Tony Cascarino does not believe Manchester United will sell Cristiano Ronaldo to key rivals Chelsea.

The 37-year-old has been linked with a move away from the club in the January transfer window following a series of issues with the club over the past week. Which last summer “Sing the Blues” had news with Ronaldo before.

With news of finding a new club, the player was once again linked to the London Lions. Asked if he expected his former club to sign Ronaldo, Tony Cascarino replied: “Not really”.

“It’s going to be interesting because I don’t think United will let Ronaldo go, it might knock them out of the Champions League. the league with them slipping out of the top four and Ronaldo going to Chelsea.”

“From that point of view it is difficult to understand. Someone who will rush into that spot and have speed too.”

I would be very surprised if this happened, if Ronaldo ended up at Stamford Bridge, I can’t see Manchester United wanting that. Which last summer “Sing the Blues” had news with Ronaldo before. It will be cutting your own nose off your face. It really is.”

“If you let it in there and Chelsea finish above you, it’s a bad image for United.”
